Rainwater Tank Not Switching to Mains
The most common Aura call I get. The tank runs dry and the water just stops, because the rain to mains changeover valve (often an Aquasaver) won't switch over. Resetting it only works for a while. I fix it properly, usually in one visit.
Hot Water Units Failing Early
Builder-installed hot water systems in newer homes often fail sooner than you'd expect. I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth repairing or replacing, and I supply and install electric, gas and heat pump systems from all major brands.
Low Pressure & Pressure Limiting Valves
Low water pressure, banging pipes or a dripping relief valve on the hot water often come back to the pressure limiting valve at the meter wearing out. It's a quick fix that protects your tapware and hot water system.
Leaks, Drains & Fixtures
Dripping mixers, running toilets, leaking showers and blocked drains, often from wipes, grease or debris left over from construction. Most jobs get a fixed price before I start.

Why is my rainwater tank not switching to mains?
It's the most common problem I see in Aura homes. Usually the changeover valve isn't broken. It's how it works with the rest of the mains setup these homes were built with, so it stops sensing mains water and never switches over. Resetting or cleaning it only fixes it for a while. My hot water has stopped working. How quickly can you help?
Hot water failures are a priority, and being local to Nirimba means I can often get there the same day. Call me and I'll give you a straight answer on timing. Most replacements are done in a single visit, and hot water quotes are always free.
How much does a plumber cost in Nirimba?
You get a clear price before I start. As a guide, blocked drain clearing starts from $210, hot water repairs from $165, a standard 250L electric hot water replacement is installed from $2,400, and gas work from $190. Where I can't price a job until I find the problem, like a hidden leak, it's $165 per hour inc GST in business hours, with a 1-hour minimum plus parts.
My home is new. Should I call you or my builder?
If the home is still under builder warranty and the problem looks like a defect, contact your builder first, as it may be covered. For anything outside warranty, wear and tear, or problems the builder won't fix, call me and I'll sort it.
Why is my water pressure low, or my pipes banging?
In newer Aura homes it's often the pressure limiting valve at the water meter wearing out, or a partly blocked filter or mixer. I'll test the pressure, find the cause and give you a fixed price to fix it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I hold a QBCC licence for plumbing and gas fitting (licence 15559043) and carry public liability insurance on every job. All gas work is certified to AS/NZS 5601. You can check my licence on the QBCC website.
