I'm Damian, owner of PAGE Tradie Plumbing & Gas. I've been plumbing for over 25 years in the UK and Australia, and I live in Nirimba, right in the middle of Aura. Tank Not Switching to Mains
The number one Aura call. Most Aura homes have a rainwater tank feeding the toilets, laundry and garden, with a rain to mains changeover valve (often an Aquasaver). When the tank runs dry and the valve won't switch, the water just stops. A reset only lasts so long. I fix the cause, usually in one visit.
Tank Pumps Cycling or Running On
A pump that keeps running, switches on and off on its own, or gives poor pressure on the tank side usually points to a leak somewhere in the system, a worn pressure switch or check valve, or a pump near the end of its life. I'll find which one before replacing anything.
Hot Water Failing Early
Builder-supplied hot water systems often don't last as long as owners expect. Leaking tanks, tripping elements and failed valves are common. I'll tell you honestly whether to repair or replace, and supply and install electric, gas and heat pump systems from all major brands.
Pressure, Water Hammer & Dripping Valves
Banging pipes, low pressure or water dripping from the hot water relief valve often trace back to a worn pressure limiting valve at the meter. It's a quick fix that protects your tapware, appliances and hot water system.

Why does my rainwater tank stop switching to mains?
It's the most common plumbing problem in Aura. The changeover valve usually isn't broken. It's how it works with the rest of the mains setup these homes were built with, so it stops sensing mains water and never switches over. Resetting it only works for a while. Why does my tank pump keep running or turning on by itself?
Usually it's a small leak somewhere on the tank side, such as a toilet cistern or outdoor tap, a worn pressure switch or check valve, or a pump that's wearing out. I'll find the cause before replacing anything, so you don't pay for a new pump you don't need.
My hot water has stopped working. How quickly can you help?
Hot water failures are a priority, and because I live in Aura I can often get there the same day. Call me for a straight answer on timing. Most replacements are done in a single visit, and hot water quotes are always free.
How much does a plumber cost in Aura?

As a guide, blocked drain clearing starts from $210, hot water repairs from $165, a standard 250L electric hot water replacement is installed from $2,400, and gas work from $190. Where I can't price a job until I find the problem, like a hidden leak, it's $165 per hour inc GST in business hours, with a 1-hour minimum plus parts.
My Aura home is new. Should I call you or my builder?
If it's still under builder warranty and looks like a defect, contact your builder first, as it may be covered. For anything outside warranty, wear and tear, or problems the builder won't fix, call me and I'll sort it.
