Rural Plumbing Done Right — By Someone Who Understands It
When you need a plumber who genuinely understands hinterland properties, PAGE Tradie is the specialist to call. Hinterland homes have plumbing needs that coastal homes simply don't — rainwater tanks instead of mains pressure, septic systems instead of sewer, bore pumps, longer pipe runs, and hot water systems that work harder through cooler hinterland mornings.
From Image Flat to Hunchy, Cooloolabin to Reesville, I provide proper rural plumbing and gas services. After 25+ years in the trade, I know the difference between fixing a leaking tap in Kawana and diagnosing why a Davey HM60 keeps losing prime in Crohamhurst.
I'm Damian Hall, owner-operator of PAGE Tradie. Fully licensed for plumbing, gas fitting and drainage (QBCC #15559043). No subcontractors, no apprentices doing the work — when you book me, I'm the one who turns up.
- Rural Systems Specialist: Tank, septic, bore, gravity gas
- Owner-Operator: Same person every visit
- 25+ Years Experience: Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast
- Honest About Travel: Realistic timeframes, not empty promises
- QBCC Licensed: Fully insured, all certifications provided

Common Hinterland Plumbing Problems I Fix
Rural living brings unique plumbing challenges — here's how I solve them
Tank Pump Losing Prime
Most common causes: faulty non-return valve, hairline crack in suction line, blocked foot valve, or pump seal failure. I diagnose properly rather than replace parts on guesswork.
Low Pressure in Tank-Fed Homes
Usually a pump, pressure-limiting valve, or filter issue — not a mystery. I trace pressure systematically rather than guessing or upselling unnecessary equipment.
Hot Water Tepid in Cool Mornings
Hinterland temperatures hit hot water systems harder. Could be a failed element, a stuck heat pump defrost cycle, or undersized capacity. I'll work out which.
Tree Roots in Rural Drains
Established hinterland properties have aggressive root systems. RIDGID K-60 drain machine and camera inspection to locate, clear, and identify if pipe relining is needed.
Septic Transfer Line Blockages
Plumbing into and out of septic systems — blocked transfer lines, broken pipes, fixture issues. Pump-outs and treatment plant servicing arranged via licensed specialists.
Hidden Tank-Water Leaks
On tank water, every drop matters. A small slab leak or buried pipe split can drain a 22,000L tank fast. I locate and fix leaks without unnecessary digging.
Why Choose a Hinterland-Experienced Plumber?
The advantages of working with someone who genuinely understands rural systems
Real Knowledge of Tank & Bore Systems
Tank water means everything depends on a pump. When the pump fails, the house has no water. I know the difference between a Davey HM60 losing prime because of a faulty non-return valve and one losing prime because of a hairline crack in the suction line. Those small judgement calls save customers hundreds in unnecessary parts and hours in unnecessary callbacks.
Honest About Travel Times
I'm based at Kawana, so a same-day call-out to Hunchy or Reesville isn't always possible. Most hinterland work is booked planned same-week. For genuine emergencies (burst mains, gas leaks) I'll do everything I can to get there fast or refer you to someone closer who can. No fake "24/7" promises that fall apart when you actually call.
Heat Pump Hot Water Specialist
Heat pumps are increasingly common in the hinterland because they suit the climate and reduce running costs on properties without mains gas. I install Reclaim, Sanden, iStore and others. I know how they perform through cool hinterland mornings, when defrost cycles get stuck, and which sizes suit which households.
Septic & Treatment Plant Knowledge
I handle plumbing into and out of septic — blocked transfer lines, broken pipes, fixture issues feeding the system. Treatment plant servicing and pump-outs require licensed liquid waste specialists, and I work with reliable local contractors. I'll tell you straight what I can do and what needs a specialist, rather than pretending to do everything.
One Tradesman Who Remembers Your Property
Continuity matters more on rural properties. When something fails on a Sunday afternoon, dealing with one plumber who already knows your tank setup, your pump model, where the water shut-off is, and what's been done before — that's worth a lot. Many hinterland customers have used my services for years for everything from routine maintenance to major renovations.

Some of our latest customer reviews — rated 5 out of 5 stars on Google.
Damian at P.A.G.E. Tradie did an awesome job on my bathroom refurbishment. The work included the shower, basin, bath, floor tile repairs, and bringing the hot water system up to compliance.
From the start, Damian had great communication and provided a really thorough quote so I knew exactly what to expect. The work was completed quickly and efficiently, and everything was done to a high standard. He was reliable, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work.
What really stood out was the follow-up after the job was completed to make sure everything was still perfect. That level of service is rare these days.
Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be using Damian at P.A.G.E. Tradie again in the future!
Exceptional service from P.A.G.E. Tradie – Damian Hall
Damian from P.A.G.E. Tradie was outstanding. Although he couldn’t fix my hot water system himself, he went above and beyond by organising an electrician who could come out the same day. That level of care and initiative is rare and genuinely appreciated.
His fee was extremely affordable, and his honesty and professionalism really stood out. I felt completely supported throughout the whole process.
Highly recommend Damian and P.A.G.E. Tradie for their integrity, prompt communication, and genuine commitment to helping their customers.
He is a wizard at many facets of plumbing and also a sincere honest gentleman.
He quoted on Friday and installed the required tap on the Monday morning. Turned up on time.
The task involved running a new pipeline to the outside of the house and he also found a fault with our rainwater tank and fixed the fault. Barry and I were recommended Damien by Friends and neighbours and are so pleased.
We highly recommend him.
thank you Damien
When the plumber came out, Damian Hall, I explained to him the problem we were having with our water tank and he new straight away what I was talking about.
I would like to thank Damian Hall for his prompt response and the good work he achieved. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a plumber on the Sunshine Coast. They are the go-team for any plumbing work you may have. 5 out 5 Damian !
It was a pleasure to have Damian in my home. He was professional, polite and offered good advice along the way. He listened to and accommodated all my requests.
His work was first class!! His pricing was on point too.

Do you do same-day call-outs in the hinterland?
Honest answer — usually no. My base is Kawana, so a same-day call-out to Hunchy or Reesville isn't always possible. Most hinterland work is booked planned same-week. For genuine emergencies like burst mains or gas leaks I'll do everything I can to get there fast or refer you to someone closer who can. The best way to get a fast hinterland visit is to call me early in the day at 0447 655 396 — I keep some availability open for urgent jobs. For life-threatening emergencies like major gas leaks, always call 000 first.
My tank pump keeps losing prime — what's wrong?
Most common causes: faulty non-return valve, hairline crack in suction line, blocked foot valve, or pump seal failure. Less common but worth checking — a stuck float switch, air leak at a fitting, or the pump body itself starting to fail. I diagnose properly rather than just replacing parts on guesswork. Most prime issues are fixable in one visit. I work with all major rural pump brands including Davey, Grundfos, DAB and Onga.
Can you service my septic system?
I handle plumbing into and out of septic — blocked transfer lines, broken pipes, fixture issues feeding the system, and diagnosing whether a problem is plumbing or septic-side. Pump-outs and treatment plant certification require a licensed liquid waste specialist, which is a different licence to mine. I work with reliable local contractors and can arrange that side of things if needed. I'll always tell you straight what I can do and what needs a specialist.
Do you charge a travel fee for hinterland jobs?
No flat travel fee. I quote each job honestly including the time involved getting to your property. For most hinterland customers, the value is in getting it done right by someone who understands rural systems — not bouncing between three plumbers who each charge a call-out and don't know the difference between a tank pump and a mains booster. I'll provide a clear quote upfront before any work begins.
Can you install a heat pump hot water system?
Yes. Heat pumps are increasingly common in the hinterland because they suit the climate and reduce running costs on properties without mains gas. I install Reclaim, Sanden, iStore and other major brands. Happy to advise on what suits your household size, electrical setup, and where the unit will sit on the property. All installations include compliance certification, warranty registration, and I can advise on government rebates that may apply.
Can you do LPG gas fitting in the hinterland?
Yes — most hinterland homes run LPG rather than mains gas, and I do this work weekly. I handle LPG bottle installations, gas appliance fitting (cooktops, ovens, heaters, hot water), gas leak detection and repair, BBQ and outdoor connections, and gas safety compliance certification. All gas work meets Australian Standards AS/NZS 5601. If you smell gas, turn off the supply at the bottle, don't use electrical switches or flames, ventilate the area, and call me immediately.
Are you fully licensed and insured?
Yes — QBCC plumbing licence #15559043, gas fitting licence and restricted electrical licence. Fully insured with comprehensive public liability. All work complies with Australian Standards, the Plumbing and Drainage Act, and Sunshine Coast Regional Council regulations. Every job comes with proper compliance certificates where required. You can verify my QBCC licence directly on the QBCC website at any time.
How do I book a hinterland plumber?
Call me directly at 0447 655 396 — you'll speak with me personally, no call centres or middlemen. For non-urgent work the online quote form at pagetradie.com.au/form works well and I'll get back to you within a few hours. For larger or unusual rural jobs I prefer to inspect in person before quoting firmly. As a one-man operation, you deal with me directly from quote through to compliance certificate.
